America's renewable energy usage set to surpass coal production for the first time ever

In the U.S., coal-fired power is running out of steam as renewable energy is poised to eclipse the amount of energy produced by coal plants.  A report from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), has projected that as of this month, power derived from hydro, biomass, wind, solar and geothermal, will generate more energy than traditional coal-powered plants.  Read more...
