Are These Perilous Chemicals in Your Food?

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), a group of over 65,000 pediatricians in the U.S., are asking parents to limit their children's exposure to dangerous plastic chemicals known to leach into food from packaging, as well as chemical food additives, warning the chemicals may damage their children's health for years to come. Some of those chemicals include phthalates, nitrates and bisphenols.  Results of past research led the World Health Organization (WHO) to study and then release a joint report with the United Nations Environment Program3 suggesting a ban on endocrine disrupting chemicals may be needed to protect the health of future generations.
