Concrete blocks that store renewable energy could be used to build and power the houses of the future

The walls of your family home could soon double-up as a battery, storing energy in its blocks.  Scientists have developed a new type of concrete that is infused with potassium ions, which allow it to store electricity for long periods of time.  When energy production levels drop, the concrete would kick in and power a house using the reserve stock of energy it has saved up.  Read more...
