These tasty, easy-to-prepare crostini make great hors d’oeuvres, or you can spread the paté on crackers for a delicious snack.
Ingredients:
1 baguette
¼ cup olive oil
2 cups pitted black or green olives
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
6 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
2 teaspoons capers
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time:12 min
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the baguette on the diagonal to ½-inch thickness. Place the slices on a baking sheet and toast, turning them once, for about 10 minutes or until crisp.
Heat the oil in medium skillet over low heat. When the oil is shimmering, add the olives, basil, sage, garlic, and capers and cook, stirring, 12 to 15 minutes, or until the garlic is tender. Transfer the mixture to the container of a food processor and process until it is combined and smooth. Transfer to a small bowl and serve with the crostini.
Makes 1½ cups paté
