Diabetes, cancer and death: These are the effects of polluted air

On Wednesday, the US Environmental Protection Agency under President Trump finalized its rollback of President Obama's signature climate policy -- the Clean Power Plan, which aimed to reduce coal-fired power plant emissions. The administration will replace the plan with the Affordable Clean Energy Rule.  "The Affordable Clean Energy Rule, ACE, gives states the regulatory certainty they need to continue to reduce emissions and provide affordable and reliable energy for all Americans," EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said.  When the draft proposal of the policy was announced in August, the agency's own risk analysis found that additional pollution under the new plan would result in up to 1,400 more premature deaths a year in the United States as of 2030.  Read more....
