Hackensack University Medical Center is proud to announce that Dianne A.M. Aroh, RN, MS, NEA-BC, executive vice president, chief nursing and patient care officer, HackensackUMC, has been named one of NJBIZ’s Best 50 Women in Business. The award program, produced by NJBIZ, New Jersey’s premiere business news publication, is sponsored by Wells Fargo, WithumSmith+Brown, PC, Comcast Business Class, and Wolff & Samson PC.
“I am honored to work alongside a healthcare leader of Dianne’s stature,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of Hackensack University Health Network. “Dianne’s innumerable contributions to HackensackUMC have undoubtedly offered improvements to patient care and quality. I wish her continued success and congratulate her on this prestigious recognition.”
The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors New Jersey’s most dynamic women in business that have been making headlines in their field. To qualify, a nominee had to meet selection criteria that included living or working in New Jersey and holding significant authority for decision making in her company. An independent panel of judges selected the top 50 winners based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement, and advocacy for women.
Dianne’s uncompromising focus on patient-centered care has ensured that the HackensackUMC team always keeps the patient’s interest first. Value-based strategies have been implemented, resulting in significant cost savings and reallocation of budgeted dollars for improved patient care. “Town Hall Forums” were established to provide meaningful, timely communication between executive leaders and staff. Under Dianne’s guidance, the Department of Patient Care developed a “Blueprint for Nursing Leadership,” emphasizing distributed responsibility, non-stop skill development and accountability. Understanding the importance of staff mentoring and guidance, she became the executive sponsor for the Management Mentorship Program for managers in 2007. She is a champion for the empowerment of staff nurses in the decision-making process, and staff nurses are now voting members of the Nurse Executive Council. Under Dianne’s leadership, HackensackUMC also achieved its fourth Magnet® Designation for Nursing Excellence in 2009.
“We are truly fortunate to have the opportunity to recognize this outstanding group of women.” said Thomas Curtin, publisher of NJBIZ. “As business and community leaders, they are constantly redefining success within and outside the business arena. On behalf of NJBIZ, we would like to thank and congratulate these fifty outstanding women for their dedication to New Jersey’s future.”
NJBIZand the program sponsors will honor this year’s winners during an awards ceremony on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. The honorees will also be highlighted in a special supplement to NJBIZ on March 25, 2013.
