Even the briefest exposure to air pollution can trigger an acute respiratory infection in young children

Even the shortest exposure to air pollution can cause an acute lower respiratory infection (ALRI ) in young children, according to a study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.  A team of researchers from Intermountain Healthcare, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah primarily aimed to determine if there was an association between the fine particulate matter PM2.5 and ALRI in young children.  Read more...
