What are the policies for visiting a patient?
Our visitor policy is subject to change in accordance to the patient’s condition and/or emergency situations declared by the Medical Center.
At the patient’s request, visitation may be restricted.
Additionally, certain units have specific guidelines for visitation, click here to see those unit policies.
Visitor Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Quiet Time Hours: 9:00pm - 8:00am

Quiet Time allows our patients to relax and sleep in a healing environment. During Quiet time we ask for your cooperation in maintaining a quiet environment so all our patients can rest. We ask you to speak in a soft tones, silence cell phones, and reduce the volume of the TV.
Visitation Guidelines:

For the safety and care of all patients, visiting is limited to two (2) visitors per patient at one time.

Health Screenings, if required, may be conducted.

Children between the ages of 4-12 are permitted in general patient areas one (1) at a time and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Children must not be left unattended anywhere in the medical center.

Any visitor creating a disturbance, interfering with patient care or violating a medical center policy will not be allowed to remain in the medical center.
Rooming-In Guidelines:

Sleeping in private patient rooms overnight is not encouraged as all our patients require rest and care during their stay. Please plan accordingly.

Sleeping in semi-private patient rooms is not permitted. We support a quiet, healing environment and respect the privacy of both patients sharing the room.

What are the visiting policies for specific departments?
Unit Specific Guidelines
General Pediatrics - Two visitors are permitted in addition to parents/legal guardians. Parents/legal guardians must obtain an “Authorized Pass” distributed by the nursing staff on the unit.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) - Two visitors are permitted in addition to parents/legal guardians and grandparents. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit. Patients may not receive gifts in the form of live plants or flowers.
Pediatric Oncology - Two visitors are permitted in addition to parents/legal guardians or grandparents. Patients may not receive gifts in the form of live plants or flowers.
Labor and Delivery - No visitation is permitted other than by the father/significant other and/or coach. Grandparents are permitted a 30 minute visit immediately post partum.
Post-Partum Units - Fathers/significant others will be issued an ID bracelet. The ID bracelet can not be used in exchange of an Authorized Pass.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Anytime except 7-7:30am, 10-11 a.m., 3-3:30 p.m., and 11-11:30 p.m. All visitors must be accompanied by the infant’s mother or father. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted visitation. Siblings (ages 3-12) may visit utilizing Child Life Services.
Adult Intensive Care Units - Live plants, flowers or fruit baskets are not permitted in the patient’s room. Allowable gifts/articles are balloons, silk arrangements, and greeting cards.
Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) - Visitation is for immediate family only. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted.
MICU / CCU - Please use designated phones in Visitors Lounge to call prior to entry.
Maximum of 2 visitors at the bedside.
Open visiting hours with the exception of change of shift report.
Visitors will be asked to remain in the lounge between the hours of 7:00am - 8:00am and 7:00pm - 8:00pm to respect patient privacy.
Adult Oncology - Children under the age of five are permitted in the designated patient lounge only. No visitors under the age of 5 are permitted in the patient’s room. Live plants, flowers or fruit baskets are not permitted in the patient’s room. Allowable gifts/articles are balloons, silk arrangements, and greeting cards.
Recovery Room (Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)) - noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. for 10 minutes once patients have been medically cleared to receive visitors. Open visitation applies for those patients whom have stayed overnight and are in the step-down area of the recovery room.
In-patient Psychiatry - 6:30 -8 p.m. Monday through Friday including Holidays and 1 -4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday including Holidays. Every effort will be made by the treatment team including the patient’s physician to accommodate any special visitation requirement made as an exception to these hours for family members. Family members/visitors under the age of 18 are not permitted except under extreme circumstances.
