Fracking at Choke Canyon is gambling with our future

Head north for about 70 miles on Interstate 37, take a left and you’ll find Corpus Christi’s lifeline. The Choke Canyon Reservoir is the main source of our city’s drinking water, and right now it’s under attack.  The U.S. Bureau of Land Management just auctioned off 4,200 acres of public land beneath Choke Canyon for oil and gas extraction. The risk of water contamination from fracking underneath the reservoir and near Choke Canyon Dam is frighteningly real.  Read more...
