The Goddard School Marlboro Adopts The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center's Greening The Cleaning Program

goddard_schoolMarlboro, N.J., July 01, 2011 – The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center® today announced that its award-winning Greening The Cleaning® products have been implemented at The Goddard School Marlboro I  in an effort to maintain a clean, safe environment for their students, The Goddard School Marlboro I  has also selected kinderkleen™ as their green cleaning service provider and partner.

Greening The Cleaning® means eliminating, to the greatest extent possible, all cleaning agents containing hazardous ingredients and replacing them with naturally-derived ingredients with the least level of toxicity. One hundred percent of all profits from the institutional products go to the Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center® for supporting the GTC Greening The Cleaning® program in addition to funding education and research to identify, control and ultimately prevent toxic exposures in the environment that threaten our children's health.

"Our Greening The Cleaning® program makes a difference not just by safely cleaning the school, but it changes the way we think about the environment around us. We applaud The Goddard School Marlboro I  in Marlboro and kinderkleen for taking this important step to create a greener, brighter future for our kids," said Deirdre Imus, founder and president of The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center®. The Environmental Health Center is part of Hackensack University Medical Center, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation in New Jersey, where the program originated.

The Goddard School Marlboro I joins more than 400 schools, healthcare facilities, government agencies and businesses that have adopted the program since its inception in 2001.

"Here at The Goddard School Marlboro I, the benefits we have found after switching to the Greening The Cleaning® program and hiring kinderkleen as our service partner are cost reduction, toxicity reduction, quantity and space reduction, and most importantly, it is safer for our children, staff and environment, Our partnership with kinderkleen, our green service and product supplier demonstrates our serious commitment to this cause" said owner Lauren Baldwin.

Unlike most cleaning products sold today, Greening The Cleaning® products list all ingredients right on the label. These products are made from natural or naturally-derived ingredients, are readily biodegradable, and contain no phosphates, and no known or suspected human carcinogens, mutagens and teratogens.

The Goddard School Marlboro I is a nationwide franchise of GSI, headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. With 360+ schools, it is the fastest growing preschool in the United States and was recently recognized as the “#1 Childcare Franchise” for the ninth consecutive year by Entrepreneur magazine (January 2010).

Kinderkleen™ was founded by parents and caregivers passionate about the environmental impact on their children’s health and well-being. Their shared vision of identifying, controlling and preventing toxic exposure that threaten our children’s health has led them to developing a proven green cleaning program through the exclusive use and distribution of Greening The Cleaning ® products.
