A Message from Deirdre Imus

Welcome to the premiere issue of Greening Your Life -- an informative link to healthier living.

We hope this finds you enjoying good health as we celebrate the holidays and this season. It is because of you that our Environmental Center is able to work for a healthier future for children, and this newsletter is our way of saying "thanks," and to keep you abreast of our efforts. In this first issue, we offer an overview of the Center and our recent successes, including a recap of important legislative issues we are actively involved in.

Each issue will feature a cleaning tip or procedure from the award-winning Greening the Cleaning® program for commercial environments to help improve efficiency. We will also cover other things you can do in your workplace, city, schools, government, and at home to help create a better environment for us all. We will provide you with information on known and suspected environmental toxins, hazards and irritants -- as well as their potential impact, especially on children.

To start you thinking more about healthier living, we also give you a favorite recipe from my cookbook, Cooking for Kids and Cowboys that we use on The Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer.

As we celebrate the holidays, all of us at The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology® send you our warmest wishes for a healthy new year.
