Camp Abilities-CABVI Empowers Children with Visual Impairments
Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI), master distributor for the Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center’s Greening The Cleaning® products, held their Camp Abilities event at Camp Nazareth in Woodgate, NY from July 31 – August 6. This youth development program empowers kids with vision loss to remain healthy and physically active. With exciting and challenging activities including tandem bike riding, rock wall climbing, and kayaking, Camp Abilities-CABVI provides a traditional summer camp experience to kids that are blind or visually impaired. Campers are also prepared for the future with vocational experiences, technology instruction, cooking skills, and independent living skills that will last a lifetime.
All Greening The Cleaning® products are distributed nationwide by CABVI. Simply choosing to purchase GTC products for your school, business or healthcare facility helps employ people who are blind or visually impaired. CABVI provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation programs annually to more than 1,000 people who are blind or visually impaired in an eight county area of upstate New York. Their mission is to assist people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve their highest levels of independence by teaching independent living skills, orientation and mobility, lessons with assistive technology applications and employment training programs.
