Guillermo Martinez, Ken Sproviero, Ed Haffy, Chris Covello and the IT team managed a campus-wide Electronic Waste collection as part of Earth Week 2013. Ed Haffy and his team of IT staff received E-Waste from employees’ homes and offices over two full days. They checked for Medical Center tags and sorted items by type. Their commitment to excellent service is exemplified by their efforts to protect the data of employees and their families by removing the hard drive of every discarded computer. E-Waste from Earth Week 2013 filled a 20-cubic-yard container. They also captured over 600 computer keyboards and mice for our Terracycle collection. In 2012, IT staff recycled 62,799 pounds of E-Waste through our R-2 Certified responsible vendor.
