More information about our programs and crucial work

Leading with Research - Established in 2008, our Research Program explores the intersection of human health and the environment. We translate findings into real-world solutions through community outreach/education, online resources, and clinical education.

Training New Doctors in Environmental Health - At Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in New Jersey, we are educating the next generation of health care professionals about the connection between our health and the environment. There are proven health risks associated with environmental contaminants in our air, water, food, personal care products and more.

Supporting Music & Art Therapy Programs - Studies have shown that participating in music and art can alleviate pain, help manage stress, promote wellness, enhance memory, improve communication, aid physical rehabilitation, and give children a way to express their feelings. This is especially critical when they are faced with illness or injury and in a hospital setting, which is why we support music and art programs for children with serious illnesses at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Greening The Cleaning®, green cleaning with meaning - Over 20 years ago, we began our mission to overhaul the cleaning products used in hospitals. In the spring of 2001, we launched the award winning Greening The Cleaning® program. Since then, it has become a springboard for other healthcare facilities, schools, and businesses to improve their indoor environment by implementing green cleaning initiatives. Simply choosing GTC® products creates meaningful employment opportunities at the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Sustainability Program - Over the last two decades, the Center, in partnership with Hackensack University Medical Center, developed award-winning sustainable programs such as waste reduction, minimizing the use of hazardous materials, preventing pollution, serving healthier foods, and more, to ensure patients, team members, and visitors are in the healthiest environment to foster healing and well-being.
