How Can We Help?

september-2009-yellow_ribbonAnswers for Friends and Families
from Parents of Children with Cancer
By Greening Your Life columnist Cyndi MacKinlay

Our circle of family and friends is the mainstay of our lives. Their steady presence through the best and worst of times makes them integral to all that we do and all that we are. A Swedish proverb that captures this relationship states: “Shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.”

Green Pediatricians

Many families contact our Center searching for a "green pediatrician."  To find one in your area, see the American Academy of Pediatrics' list of Integrative Pediatricians at: http://www.aap.org/sections/chim/ParentResources.html

FAP is a parents support group dedicated to raising awareness of services and supported living arrangements needed for the entire spectrum of adults with autism through developing and implementing educational programs. Our commitment is to focus on the power of education and advocacy in helping to bring about the future legislative environment where our adult children with autism will have the assurance that their vital support necessary to have a future with a quality of life will be there for them after age 21. This would be a life which would allow them to make choices, live as independently as possible, have access to all aspects of the community, hold jobs and become participating members of their communities. Currently we have a 2500 plus membership of parents, professionals, supporters, and members with autism.  For more information, visit http://autisticadults.com/
