March 2020 Vol. 15 / No.1
Dear Friends,
As winter makes way for spring, the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day is just around the corner. At The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center®, we’re preparing to celebrate with colleagues and patients by spreading the message that we each can do something meaningful. Whether its supporting local habitat biodiversity through beekeeping, repurposing hospital blue wrap in innovative ways or teaching team members how to increase recycling, we each can take strides to move the needle towards a healthier planet for all.
In this issue, we also highlight the growing field of mindfulness in schools for creating a calm and positive environment. If you’re trying to create calm at home as well, check out the growing movement of abstaining from alcohol for a month – which some have made a year-round habit. Also on the home front, help achieve a clean slate this spring with healthy home cleaning tips and timely handwashing tips, ready to share. And, as always, we’ve got healthy recipes to bring new flavor to your table.
Wishing you health and wellness,
Deirdre Imus
