Summer Fun at the Center
It has been a busy summer already for The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center®. In addition to being an essential part of helping Hackensack University Medical Center achieve Practice Greenhealth’s Top 25 Green Hospital status for the 6th consecutive year this past May, our team at the Center has been working hard to restore beauty and grow green in the Hackensack community.
First we rolled up our sleeves to lend a hand in removing trash from the water at Overpeck Park to help preserve the Hackensack River Watershed. See more. Then we planted our first vegetables at Hackensack's community garden.
Hackensack Community Garden
We are proud to be growing green by planting vegetables at the city of Hackensack’s first community garden. We saw our first pepper, more to come!
