I can’t believe how miraculous the date is. Gee, since they are so tasty and delicious and I always knew how extremely healthy they are, I never even knew or cared how many calories were in them. Knowing how healthy they are I was very curious and researched what exactly their benefits are, and was shocked to learn that they may help everything from night blindness to muscle development. Let me tell you all about the date.
In addition to being a wonderful source of fiber and natural sugar, dates contain many vitamins and minerals, including:
fiber
calcium
iron
potassium
magnesium
zinc
thiamin
riboflavin
folate
vitamin A
vitamin K
Whew! Now let’s get to the nitty gritty. A great way to get all of the benefits of the date are to soak them in water overnight and eat them in the morning. Let me tell you what they’re good for:
Promoting muscle development
Promoting bone, nervous system, and heart health
Relieving seasonal allergies
Boosting energy
Reducing occurrence of night blindness
Alleviating hangovers
Regulating digestion, easing constipation, and controlling diarrhea
Helping to fight abdominal cancer
When I’m craving something sweet, a date sure suffices. As a closing tip, if you’re having trouble falling asleep, just have a couple of dates and believe it or not it will help put you fast to sleep! I believe this is thanks to its natural sugars and magnesium. And by the way, try my favorite way to eat dates – remove the seed and pop an almond or walnut in place of the seed – man oh man is it delicious!
