HACKENSACK UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER TAUGHT TEANECK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS HOW TO SAFELY ‘WALK THIS WAY’

The Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Injury Prevention Section of the Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center, in conjunction with the Safe Kids International Walk This Way Program hosted a special event promoting pedestrian safety at Lowell Elementary School in Teaneck, NJ. Safe Kids Worldwide and program sponsor FedEx Express created “Walk This Way” to teach safe behavior to motorists and child pedestrians, and to create safer, more walkable communities.

As part of the day’s events, Hackensack University Medical Center paramedics and emergency medical services had their trucks and ambulances on-site for the students to tour. There was also a parade of all the students, police officers, paramedics on bikes, FedEx employees with their trucks, giveaways, and a pedestrian safety presentation
