Heavy drinking into middle age can add nearly TWO INCHES to your waistline and increase your chance of strokes and high pressure

Heavy drinking throughout adult life and into middle age can lead to significant health problems and a larger waistline, a study warns. Researchers from University College London studied the link between decades of alcohol abuse and discovered a definitive link to high blood pressure, poor liver function, increased stroke risk, larger waist circumferences and BMI in later life. The study found that more than half of drinkers aged 59 and over have been heavy drinkers, and that this is linked to a larger waistline and increased stroke risk.  Read more.....
