High blood sugar levels could be placing you at risk of dementia, memory loss, and cognitive decline

A startling study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reveals a link between high blood sugar levels and an increased risk for dementia, even in people who are not diabetic. Authors of the study speculate that having higher blood sugar levels can increase the risk for vascular disease, which, in turn, contributes to a higher likelihood of cognitive deterioration.
