Low-dose radiation from x-rays and CT scans found to increase risk of high blood pressure

Prolonged exposure to ionizing radiation emitted by medical devices and nuclear facilities is associated with an increased risk of high blood pressure. This finding came from a cohort study recently published in the journal Hypertension. In it, researchers found that the incidence of high blood pressure was higher in people who were exposed to low doses of radiation for long periods. Read more....
