Hackensack University Medical Center is proud to announce that 132 of its affiliated physicians were listed in the latest edition of The Castle Connolly Guideto “Top Doctors - New York Metro Area.” The guidebook, in its fifteenth edition, serves as a prominent consumer guide to finding top primary care and specialty doctors in the greater New York City area.

“I would like to congratulate each of the 132 HackensackUMC physicians who have been listed on the most recent Top Doctors list,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of HackensackUMC. “We pride ourselves on the high quality of care provided to patients, and this recognition of our doctors is a true testament to our medical center’s commitment to recruiting and retaining the best of the best in the field of medicine.”

The Castle Connolly Guideto “Top Doctors - New York Metro Area” is a non-ranking list of the top physicians in the tri-state metropolitan area. It is a peer-nominated list that details information on more than 5,500 physicians in 65 specialties. Nomination forms are sent to medical professionals in the region, including physicians and hospital executives. Nominators are asked to make a nomination based on which physicians they think are the best in their field, and to whom they would personally recommend a family member or loved one.

“The number of HackensackUMC physicians who have been selected as Top Doctors is truly impressive and something to be proud of,” said Ihor S. Sawczuk, M.D., executive vice president and chief medical officer of HackensackUMC. “As a Top Doctor myself, it is an honor to be affiliated not only with HackensackUMC, but also with outstanding colleagues such as mine.
