Bikers Mark a Fundraising Milestone in Annual Charity Run to Support HackensackUMC Patients and Programs

Bikers rode in full force to support Hackensack University Medical Center’s patients and programs in the HackensackUMC Foundation’s 13th Annual Motorcycle Charity Run. Breaking a rainy streak that persisted the past few years, skies were sunny and the pavement was dry as more than 600 bikers took to the streets for a great cause. In all, whether they rode a motorcycle or just came to enjoy the day, more than 800 people joined in the event that raised $487,000.

The Leapfrog Group Announces Annual Top Hospitals List

The Leapfrog Group’s annual class of top hospitals – 65 from a field of nearly 1200 – was announced December 6th in Washington, D.C. and included Hackensack University Medical Center for a second time – the only hospital in New Jersey to receive this honor two years in a row. The announcement came at Leapfrog’s Annual Meeting where the group celebrated the five year anniversary of its ground breaking Never Events Policy.

HACKENSACK UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER SUPPORTS NEW JERSEY’S FIRST AID COUNCIL CONVENTION

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) was a sponsor of New Jersey’s First Aid Council Convention in Somerset. The event was well represented by HUMC’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS). HUMC presented its first Emergency Mobile Trauma Unit and several support vehicles. The units are ready and available for use in responding to bioterrorism attacks and other mass casualty incidents in urban areas.
