Number of children needing treatment for having an addiction to anti-anxiety drugs such as Xanax has DOUBLED in a year, shock figures show

The amount of under-18-year-olds being treated for addiction to sleeping and anxiety pills has almost doubled in a year, figures show.  Cases of addiction to benzodiazepines have increased by 96 per cent, from 161 in 2016 to 2017, to 315 in 2017 to 2018.  Treatment for addiction to Xanax, a powerful type of the anti-anxiety drug, saw an increase of five-fold among youngsters.  Read more...
