The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hackensack University Medical Center is a fully integrated partner in the OB/GYN residency training program of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. The residency program provides post-graduate clinical training and opportunities for research in OB/GYN. All 28 residents in the program rotate annually through Hackensack University Medical Center, where they are provided with the full spectrum of clinical training in all areas of OB/GYN and women’s health. From primary care to tertiary care, residents gain experience in general obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive medicine and infertility, operative gynecology, gynecologic malignancies, gynecologic pathology, breast disease, urogynecology, pelvic floor reconstructive surgery, genetics, ultrasonography, family planning, the management of critically ill patients, emergency medicine, and primary and preventive care. Residents achieve expertise in the care of patients with diverse backgrounds. Residents also participate in the academic infrastructure provided by the faculty of Hackensack University Medical Center.
