The Reggie & Peter Gross, MD Community Health Library in the Samuel and Sandra Hekemian Medical Library at Hackensack University Medical Center offers library services for patients, family members, friends and the community.
Highly skilled librarians and library assistants can assist visitors in finding accurate and up-to-date health information. They can answer specific reference questions, help perform computer searches, or teach patrons how to find the best websites for medical and health information. Requests for information can be made in person, by telephone or by email. Information can be picked up in the library or mailed to your home.
Helping our patients and the community-at-large make informed decisions about their health is a role Hackensack University Medical Center takes very seriously. As a member of Planetree, a non-profit, international organization dedicated to demystifying, humanizing, and personalizing the healthcare experience, the medical center is committed to helping those we serve become active participants in their care.
The Reggie & Peter Gross, MD Community Health Library provides patrons with access to selected health-related computer databases and the Internet to retrieve high quality, up to date information. Materials are available in Spanish as well as a number of other languages. A DVD library and on-site DVD player and television for viewing are also available. Children can find books about health and common diseases written just for them. A photocopier is also available for your use.
