Clinical Staff

Hackensack University Medical Center registered dietitians (RDs), experts in food and nutrition, are educated and credentialed to provide medical nutrition therapy. A registered dietitian is a food and nutrition expert who has met academic and professional requirements including a bachelor’s degree, completion of an accredited, supervised practice program of 1200 hours, and passing a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Some RDs also hold additional degrees and certifications in specialized areas of practice; such as pediatric, renal or oncology nutrition; diabetes education or nutrition support.

At Hackensack University Medical Center we have professional registered dietitians who specialize in medicine & surgery, nutrition support, pediatrics, diabetes, and oncology. During your stay, please ask to speak with a registered dietitian if you have questions or concerns about your special prescribed diet. For clinical or diet education questions when you are home, please call our general nutrition line at 551-996-5684, and a registered dietitian will respond to your call within 2 business days.
