Nicole Ali, M.D.
Co-Chief, Transplant Nephrology
Nicole M. Ali, M.D., is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and joined HackensackUMC in 2011 from Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She is currently the Medical Director of Transplantation as well as the Chief of Transplant Nephrology at HackensackUMC. She specializes in the care and treatment of kidney and pancreas transplant patients, having completed an American Society of Transplantation certified Fellowship program. Her areas of interest include factors that contribute to long-term kidney allograft survival and patient well-being, the clinical effects of live kidney donation, and methods to increase the donor pool of organs.
Dr. Ali received her medical degree from Stony Brook University Medical Center and her undergraduate degree in Health and Human Biology from Brown University. She completed her Internal Medicine and Nephrology training at Winthrop University Hospital and her Transplant Fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital.
She is a member of the American Medical Society, the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation.

James Lim, M.D.
Co-Chief, Transplant Surgery
James Lim, M.D., joins the HackensackUMC Organ Transplantation team after serving as Program Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at Lankenau Medical Center from 2007 to 2013, and Pancreas Transplant Director at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Lim’s expertise includes kidney and pancreas transplant, vascular access, and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. He earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and School of Arts & Sciences and completed his General Surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center followed by Transplant Surgery Fellowships at Albert Einstein Medical Center, University of Pittsburgh, and University of Chicago.
He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Laproscopic Surgery, and the American Society of Transplantation.
Ravi Munver, M.D., FACS
Living Donor Surgeon
Dr. Munver is Chief, Minimally Invasive & Robotic Urologic Surgery at HackensackUMC. He is Board certified in Urology and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
His undergraduate studies were at Cornell University and he obtained his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center and his Fellowship in Endourology, Laparoscopy, and Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery at New York Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center.
