Basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas are the two most common forms of skin cancer, which one in five Americans will develop at some point in their life. These conditions are easily curable if treated early. Mohs surgery is a skin cancer treatment conveniently performed in the office under local anesthesia. Patients can sit comfortably reading a newspaper or having some coffee while they wait for their slides to be prepared. We also screen patients for skin cancer and treat them appropriately after a diagnosis has been confirmed.

In addition, we also diagnose and remove the most serious type of skin cancer, melanoma. Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form in adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old. One in 58 men and women will be diagnosed with melanoma during their lifetime.

People with more than 50 moles on their bodies, atypical or dysplastic moles, or a family history of melanoma are at an increased risk of developing this condition. These patients and their families should learn to examine their own skin and track any changes in mole size or characteristic.

Our Center provides the most comprehensive treatments for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of skin cancers. We are able to diagnose, biopsy and treat the lesion and even have a board certified plastic surgeon to repair the area, if desired or needed by the patient. The Mohs technique has the highest cure rate with the advantage of leaving as small a scar as possible.

As experienced Mohs and Dermatologic surgeons, we not only treat a variety of benign and malignant tumors of the skin in the convenience of an office setting, but also offer a full range of laser services, as well as fillers and botulinum toxin for aesthetic enhancements. We also offer chemical peeling for sun damage, wrinkles and melasma; microdermabrasion for acne and clogged pores; lightening of sun spots and irregular pigment, and correction of fine lines as well. Scarring can be improved with pulsed dye or even resurfacing with the new Fraxel repair laser.

In our office, the patient who is unhappy with the aesthetic appearance of their skin, or who has excessive hair, tattoos or blood vessels on the face or legs can schedule an appointment for evaluation and suggested treatments like lasers or sclerotherapy.
