The Division of Surgical Oncology, part of The Department of Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center, performs one of the highest volumes of cancer-related operations in the state of New Jersey.
The division provides surgical management of gastrointestinal and soft tissue malignancies. Gastrointestinal malignancies treated include include esophageal, stomach, pancreas, liver, colon and rectal cancers. Soft tissue malignancies treated include melanomas, sarcomas and breast cancer.
Fellowship trained surgical oncologists using an evidence based approach and working in a multidisciplinary setting, collaborating with medical and radiation oncologists, perform a variety of procedures, from simple localized excisions to sophisticated resections to ensure the most favorable outcomes for patients.
The division’s vast arsenal of techniques includes a full array of minimally invasive techniques and traditional approaches to the management of complex gastrointestinal and soft tissue malignancies.
