The Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Care at HackensackUMC recently received a gift donation of $4,023 presented by Marissabel Alvarez Mayol of Secaucus, owner of MyZumbaBody.com. The donation was the result of community members gathering together for a “Party in Pink” Zumbathon for breast cancer awareness. This exciting, two-hour charitable event where Zumba® dancing/exercise took place supported a specialcause – to benefit the Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Care. This gift will assist patients who are unable to afford a mammography, tests or treatments. The inspiration behind this goodwill event was Marissabel’s mother who battled breast cancer and finished treatment in May. Marissabel was motivated to help others who are facing the same condition.
