General Information
A Spectrum of Pediatric Challenges: Update 2013 is our 31st annual national conference designed to provide general pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and other pediatric healthcare providers with an intensive learning experience. The course content addresses new approaches to diagnosis and management of pediatric health concerns.
The roles and responsibilities for pediatric healthcare providers are constantly being reprioritized, meeting new clinical challenges as well as modifications in the delivery of services. It has become increasingly important to periodically update our knowledge base as significant advances emerge. This annual conference focuses on timely issues.
The format of the program is designed to provide a varied educational presentation: plenary sessions and round table discussions. The Guest Faculty and staff of the Hackensack University Medical Center will address a spectrum of topics, providing ample opportunities for meeting with the faculty to further explore interests and concerns.
A comprehensive conference syllabus will be distributed to all registrants providing abstracts of the faculty presentations, reference citations, and supplemental materials.
A Spectrum of Pediatric Challenges: Update 2013 is an important continuing education program. The target audience is the physician and healthcare professional either in private or hospital-based practice. The conference content has significant meaning for all professionals providing health services for infants, children, and adolescents.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE
These presentations will provide pediatrics and other pediatric healthcare providers a professional forum for the dissemination of information on quality car for newborns, infants, children and adolescents. Focus on the interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of pediatric problems and the role of the pediatric healthcare provider as major advocate for children will be examined.
A review of the roles and responsibilities of the pediatric healthcare provider in a changing environment of healthcare will be presented.
At the conclusion of this educational activity the participants will be able to:
1. Describe practice and program development in Healthcare economics
2. Identify current guidelines and challenges in Pediatric medicine
3. Recognize long term physical and psychological sequelae of treatment modalities in Pediatrics
4. Describe cutting edge advances in Perinatal medicine
5. Examine the treatment challenges regarding pediatric nutrition in diagnosis such as Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, and The Female Athlete Triad
6. Review common pediatric diagnoses with unusual presentations
