People who eat junk food are exposed to dangerous levels of phthalates

Eating junk food could not only be making you fat, it could be affecting your hormones as well. This was the stomach-turning conclusion made by researchers from George Washington University who found that people who ate more junk food or frequented fast food restaurants had a significantly higher chance of being exposed to phthalates, a class of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. The study, published in Environment International, suggests that fast food and cafeteria meals contained 35 percent more phthalates than food cooked at home.  Read more...
