Prevent diabetes and heart disease by cutting at least 300 calories every day, regardless of your BMI

Cutting the caloric equivalent of a pizza might help improve one’s biomarkers for metabolic syndrome such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol and triglyceride levels. This is according to recent findings by researchers from Duke University in North Carolina. The results of the study were published in the journal The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology. The researchers found that cutting around 300 calories a day for two years significantly improved already good levels of cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and other biomarkers in healthy adults.  Read more....
