Researchers Find Microplastics in Stool Samples

The study in question was done by researchers from the Medical University of Vienna in collaboration with the Austrian Environment Agency. The findings of this pilot study were presented October 23, 2018, at the annual United European Gastroenterology conference in Vienna.  The stool samples were tested for the presence of 10 different types of plastics, of which nine were found in the samples.
