RETIRED NEW YORK GIANT GEORGE MARTIN WALKS FOR GIANT IMPACT ON 9/11 RESPONDERS

October 21, 2011 01:54 PM

Retired NFL great George Martin led an assembly of former New York Giants and NFL alumni, 9/11 first responders, and others, in the Third Annual “Giant Steps for 9/11” Walk from the George Washington Bridge to Fairleigh Dickinson University. The walkers use Hackensack University Medical Center as a resting point and starting point for those who choose to do a smaller distance version of the walk. In 2007-08, Mr. Martin walked from New York to San Diego to help thousands of 9/11 rescue and recovery workers with serious medical conditions. Proceeds from the walk support “A Journey for 9/11” foundation as it helps 9/11 first responders obtain medical care at Hackensack University Medical Center and other nearby hospitals.
