The European Union Versus US Food and Drug Administration — One Protects Consumers; the Other Ignores Them

So-called “silver” dental fillings are really mercury fillings, and their use needs to stop — for health reasons, for environmental reasons, for workplace safety reasons and for social justice reasons.  Consumers for Dental Choice successfully facilitated a total ban on dental amalgam for children under 15 and pregnant and nursing women within the European Union, effective July 1, 2018.  August 2017, the Minamata treaty to phase down dental mercury became legally binding.
