Staff from the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital attended the kick-off event for the 2012 Annual Holiday Book Drive at The Barnes & Noble at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack.  More than 1,000 books were collected at the store for the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC, the recipient of this year’s Holiday Book Drive.  During the event, children from the Sarkis and Siran Gabrellian Child Care and Learning Center at HackensackUMC were treated to a story time reading by Dr. Fred Hirschenfang, medical director of the JUDY Center for Down Syndrome at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital.

Barnes & Noble stores across the country invited customers to give the gift of reading to children during its annual Holiday Book Drive.  The Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive provides an opportunity for customers to donate books through locally designated non-profit organizations.
