Toxic chemicals banned 40 YEARS ago could cause a 'killer whale apocalypse

A new study has warned that current concentrations of PCBs could lead to the disappearance of half of the word’s killer whales in just 30-50 years.  In 1978, chemicals called ‘polychlorinated biphenyl’ (PCBs) were banned, after it was discovered that they were toxic.  But despite this ban, PCB are still abundant in nature today - and they’re wreaking havoc on several animals.  A new study has warned that current concentrations of PCBs could lead to the disappearance of half of the word’s killer whales in just 30-50 years.  Read more...
